This beautiful Spanish Romance is attributed to Fernando Sor.Indeed, it comes from a manuscript for guitar entitled Melodia de Sor, dating from the 19th century.
This manuscript belongs to Jose Maria Lopez, a former student of Daniel Fortea who inherited the library of his teacher.
A recording of this romance, dating back to 1897 was recently discovered in Madrid.

This beautiful Romance was interpreted by guitarist Narciso Yepes (1927-1997) in the French movie Jeux interdits by René Clément (1952).
