This Study Op. 45, No. 48 by Franz Wohlfahrt is a study of rapid two-note slurs in the middle of the bow.It is to be played in the first and second positions.
In fact, this study is an excellent way for the violin student to get acquainted with the second position.
In particular, pay attention to the semi-tone shift of the first finger (such as in measures 1 and 2).
This study can also be practiced in détaché, with various mixed bowings and even in spiccato.
