This lovely work Der Einschnitt [Phrase Endings] is the eighth piece in Volume 2 of Daniel Gottlob Türk's Handstücke für angehende Klavierspieler.This second volume was first published in 1795.
This piece Phrase Endings is set in the key of F Major.
Please note that the sign // in measures 2, 4 and 6 is used by Türk to indicate that the note should be played with a lifting touch in order to round-off the end of the phrase.
This sign should NOT be confused with the ornament // (trill) of the Baroque English virginalists.
