This majestic work Infantry March is the thirty-fourth piece in Daniel Gottlob Türk's Handstücke für angehende Klavierspieler.It is set in the key of D Major.
Please note that the f (forte) in measure 1 does not appear in the source and is thus editorial.
Also, the sign // in measures 2, 4, etc. is used by Türk to indicate that the note should be played with a lifting touch in order to round-off the end of the phrase.
This sign should not be confused with the ornament // (trill) of the Baroque English virginalists.
