This Menuet in G Major by Georg Böhm appears in Anna Magdalena Bach's Notebook, a notebook which Bach offered to his wife Anna Magdalena in 1725 and which was to be filled with favorite selections of the members of the Bach family.

This score is an Urtext based on the original manuscripts available.

It contains suggestions for realizing the ornaments in accordance with Baroque performance practice.

These ornaments are :

• Appoggiaturas (measure 4) : appoggiaturas are always played ON the beat, and take up half the time value of the main note. If the main note is dotted, then the appoggiatura usually takes up two thirds of its value. However, in this particular work, we prefer giving the appoggiatura one third of the main note's value.
  
  Moreover, for the sake of uniformity, we suggest adding similar appoggiaturas to measures 12 and 24.
• Trills : they are played ON the beat and begin on the upper auxiliary note. The trills in light print in this score are editorial suggestions and do NOT appear in the sources.
