F Major Scale and Arpeggio
One octave in second position
The key of F Major is a major scale based on the note F.It includes the pitches F-G-A-Bb-C-D-E.
Its key signature is B flat and its relative minor is D minor.
This scale of F Major is an excellent way for the violin student to to get acquainted with the second position.
We recommend that the student learns the lower tetracord (on the D string) and the upper tetracord (on the A string) before putting them together to create the F Major scale.
This score includes suggestions for bowing patterns to use for practicing this scale.
Moreover, the student should practice this scale in all parts of the bow : at the nut, at the tip, in the middle and with whole bows.
