Scarlatti, Domenico
Domenico Scarlatti (1685-1757) was an Italian composer and harpsichordist of the Baroque period.
He is the sixth child of Alessandro Scarlatti and Antonia Anzaloni.
Domenico Scarlatti spent much of his life in the service of the Portuguese and Spanish royal families.
In Portugal and Spain, he was known as Domingo Escarlate.
Although chronologically classified as a Baroque composer, Domenico Scarlatti greatly influenced the development of the Classical style, mainly through his 555 keyboard sonatas.
