The Hunt - From 25 Études faciles et progressives, Op. 100

This study entitled La Chasse, Op. 100, No. 9 [The Hunt] is the ninth of 25 études in Burgmüller's 25 Études faciles et progressives, Op. 100.

This album was first published in Mainz in 1852.

This particular étude La Chasse is appropriate for Grade 5 piano students.

It tells the story of a frantic hunt.

The study begins with the hunters' bugle call (measures 1 to 4).

Then the hunters arrive on their galloping horses (measures 5 to 12).

The poor fox is scared and flees as fast as he can, growing increasingly agitated (measures 13 to 20).

But the hunters and their dogs are after him (measures 21 to 28).

Exhausted and terrified, the poor fox hides in a hole and hopes that the dogs do not find him (measures 29 to 36).

The hunters keep looking for him, but soon renounce their search and decide to leave this hunting spot and go try their luck further away (measures 37 to 56).
