Sonate HWV 361 (I : Andante)

Sonata in A Major, Op. 1, No. 3 - I : Andante

This Sonate in A Major, HWV 361 by George Frideric Handel was composed ca 1725-1726 and first published in 1732.

It was originally composed for violin and continuo.

The keyboard realization in the present score is thus provided by the editor.

This sonata contains four movements :
  1. Andante
  2. Allegro
  3. Adagio
  4. Allegro
This beautiful Andante is the first movement of this violin sonata.

In accordance with Baroque performance practice, the violinist should remember that the trills are to be played ON the beat, starting on the upper auxiliary note.

More or less repercussions may be played depending on the violinist's ability.

This sonata movement is to be played in the first four positions.

We suggest a solemn, maestoso style.

Duration : Undefined
