Polka in B flat Major, Op. 123, Suite 1, No. 6

Transcribed from Petite École de la mélodie, Op. 123

This joyful Polka in B flat Major by Charles Dancla was originally composed for violin and piano.

It is part of the Petite École de la mélodie, Op. 123.

This work consists in three suites of easy pieces for violin with piano accompaniment.

This Polka is the sixth and last piece in Suite 1.

This score is a transcription for viola and piano.

The viola part is appropriate for Grade 4 viola students.

It can be played entirely in the first position.

The violist should pay much attention to the typical polka rhythm and style of this piece.

In particular, Dancla himself recommends playing the eighth notes de la pointe et avec délicatesse [delicately, near the tip of the bow].

Duration : 02:08
