This Allegro assai is the first of three movements in Friedrich Kuhlau's Sonatina in G Major, Op. 88, No. 2.

This sonatina contains the following movements :

Allegro (G Major)
Andante cantabile (C Major)
Rondo - Vivace (G Major)

This sonatina movement features a simple Classical sonata form.

This score is a faithful reproduction of the first edition of this sonatina, published in Copenhagen by C.C. Lose in 1827.

However, we have modified some of Kuhlau's fingerings in order to adapt them to modern pedagogical practices.

This sonatina movement is appropriate for Grade 6 piano students.
