This Adagio e sostenuto is the second of three movements in Kuhlau's Sonatina in G Major, Op. 20, No. 2.

This sonatina contains three movements :

Allegro
Adagio e sostenuto
Allegro scherzando

This score is a faithful reproduction of the first edition of Kuhlau's Sonatina Op. 20, No. 2, which was first published in Leipzig in 1820.

Please note the following point about our edition :

In measure 8, in the right hand, the original edition shows a prolongation tie between the Bb4 ending the second beat and the third beat. This is different from measure 37, where the tie is between the first and second beats

Please note also that in accordance with the performance practice of the Classical period, all trills begin ON the beat, on the upper auxiliary note.

In trills, more or less repercussions may be played depending on the player's taste and ability.

This Adagio e sostenuto is appropriate for Grade 7 piano students.
