C Major Scale and Arpeggio
C Major Scale and Arpeggio
One octave in second position
The key of C Major is a major scale based on the note C.It includes the pitches C-D-E-F-G-A-B.
Its key signature has no flats and no sharps and its relative minor is A minor.
This scale of C Major is an excellent way for the violin student to to get acquainted with the second position.
We recommend that the student learns the lower tetracord (on the A string) and the upper tetracord (on the E string) before putting them together to create the C Major scale.
This score includes suggestions for bowing patterns to use for practicing this scale.
Moreover, the student should practice this scale in all parts of the bow : at the nut, at the tip, in the middle and with whole bows.
