Aria in E flat Major - When thou art near - From the Notebook for Anna Magdalena
The famous aria Bist du bei mir, BWV 508, is part of the Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach (Leipzig, 1725).Although it has long been attributed to Johann Sebastian Bach, this aria was in fact composed by Gottfried Heinrich Stölzel as part of his opera Diomedes (1718).
