Gavotte - Rondeau
Although traditionally attributed to Jean-Baptiste Lully, this Gavotte in D minor remains of uncertain origin.In fact, a very similar tune appears in the Premier livre des pièces de viole by Marin Marais, which was first published in 1686.

This score is an arrangement of Lully's alleged version for easy viola with piano accompaniment.
The viola part is appropriate for Grade 3 viola students.
It can be played entirely in the first and third positions.
