Suite no. 4 in D minor (3/6) - Courante
This Courante in D minor by George Frideric Handel is the third of six movements in the Suite No. 4 in D minor, HWV 437.This suite was composed ca 1703-1706, and was first published in London in 1733.
It has six movements :
- Prélude
- Allemande
- Courante
- Sarabande
- Gigue
- Sonatina HWV 581
Please note that this score contains suggestions for performing the ornaments (here, trills) in accordance with the performance practice of the Baroque period.
Namely, we suggest adding cadential trills in measures 9, 15, 28 and 40.
Such cadential trills should begin ON the beat, on the upper auxiliary note.
Also, please note that in measure 12, in the right hand, the C# was added by our editor, as it is not present in the sources.
