Menuetto - Minuet - Menuet KV 1e from the Notebook for Nannerl

This Menuet in G Major, K 1e by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is part of the Notebook for Nannerl Mozart [Notenbuch für Maria Anna (Nannerl) Mozart], 1759-1764.

This Menuet K 1e was composed in Salzburg between December 1761 and January 1762, when Mozart was almost six years old.

Please note that this score contains suggestions for performing the ornaments (in this case, trills) in accordance with the performance practice of the Classical period.

The cadential trill in measure 15 is editorial as it does not appear in the autograph.

Moreover, note that the dotted slurs in measure 12 are editorial (see m. 2, 4 and 10 in which the slurs were explicitly written by Mozart).

When performing this minuet, pianists may very well add further ornaments on repeats, as this was common performance practice in Mozart's time.

Finally, this minuet can be paired with Minuet K 1f, which then takes on the role of a trio.
